Läset lite häromdan och såg detta på hondatech austrailia forums <a href="

Injen säger ju att deras ger 8-14 k mer, men det kan ju inte va med origial ECU, frågan är hur bra det tex fungerar med Hondatas ECU?
ey guys, this is a copy and paste from another post I made last week.. but it explains why there are no manufacture’s really developing intakes for the FN2… have a read..
Even if manufactures develop a intake the intake could ONLY flow exactly the same amount of air as the stock intake, Quick summary - For a intake to be successful on a FN2 you need a intake + a ECU tuned for the intake.
The long version….
This does goes against the common line of modifying a Naturally Aspired Honda Engine as typically the first modification you do to a Honda Engine is an intake modification, allowing the engine to breath more efficiently… with the FN2 K20 Engine this is not the case… if you wish to lean more.. please keep reading.
The reason we are not releasing an intake alone is because for the first time on the k20 Engine Honda have included a MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow Sensor) this sensor is directly responsible for amount of fuel the engine consumes and directly effects engine performance. The MAF sensor is VERY sensitive replacing the standard intake to allow more air to flow past the MAF sensor will cause the car to go dangerously lean, if you decrease the intake internal diameter you will cause the car to go extremely rich.
If a intake is designed with the same internal flow as the standard intake a normal fuel mixture can be achieved although with our internal test unless you increase the physical amount of air which enters the engine there is no net performance benefit.
During our testing we developed prototype intakes with the same flow as the standard intake making the intake compatibility with the standard MAF sensor and standard ECU whilst there was a gain in induction noise there was a decrease in every example of power and torque. In fact even disconnecting the second half of the standard induction system will loose power…. Honda have truly fine tuned the standard intake to be the very best it can be when used in conjunction with the MAF sensor and standard ECU.
Ok now to the positive side of the story, Yes we have developed a JTune forced fed cold air induction system included in our Extreme. Our intake is 3” in diameter throughout the entire length of the intake with an extreme K&N filter placed in the bottom bumper bar, this provides maximum amounts of cold air which is forced fed via acceleration forces into the engine.
The reason we have an intake in our Extreme kit is because the Extreme kit includes our ECU which has been tuned perfectly to work with our intake. The combination of our intake + ECU allows us to harness the maximum amounts of cold air into the engine combined with correct ECU tuning to making everything work in harmony.
Please note our Mild flash ECU is only compatible with the standard Honda Intake, to use our intake you must have an Extreme or better JTune performance kit.
Hope this helps clear up the reasons why we are not releasing our intake alone as a separate upgrade.
